Norway has come a long way in being included internationally. The shipping and offshore business has connected Norwegians and foreign companies commercially, and Norwegian individuals work and live abroad as do expatriates here. Once in a while these constellations produce cross-border disputes of different types.
Frequent issues I assist in include: Monetary claims, labour disputes, divorce settlements, probate, child support, double taxation, tax treaties and service of documents.
I provide assistance to private individuals and companies alike.
Some of the cases that I have been assisting with have involved the following issues:
Monetary claims against non-paying customers

Have you sold goods to someone in Norway and not received your payment? All too often a claim from a supplier in another country seems to be ignored—and written off by the supplier because of the hassle of pursuing a payment in a foreign country. Pursuing a payment in Norway need not be that costly and complicated. Please enquire the possibilties of pursuing your claim.
Estate proceedings involving assets in Norway

Do you live abroad but have inheritance rights in an estate in Norway? Or are you involved as an executor or otherwise in an estate that has assets in Norway? Estate administration, with or without a will, can be a challenge. With the international dimension, an extra dimension is added that may complicate the process. The assistance of a lawyer may sometimes be convenient.
Enforcement of foreign judgements in Norway

Have you won a verdict abroad and seek it enforced in Norway? Depending on the origin country foreign judgements are enforceable in Norway.
Employment issues

Are you an expatriate in Norway or are you a foreigner working in Norway? Have your employment contract been terminated or are you considering entering into a new one? Recent court rulings have extended Norwegian jurisdiction, increasing labour rights for numerous employees working anywhere near Norway.
Marriage and family law

Are you entering into or dissolving a cross-border marriage? Do you need assistance with having your marriage or divorce recognized in Norway? I will be able to assist you with divorce proceedings and the financial settlement.
Child support claims

Does the other parent of your child live in Norwnotay but do not pay child support? Norwegian laws are very tough on parents that do not pay child support. Also the Norwegian society is very transparent. This makes it possible to enforce child support payments without incurring too many expenses. Do not resign to a non-paying parent—the legal system may help you more than you may be aware of.
Should you as a private individual or as a company be involved in any of these issues, you are more than welcome to contact me.
I have extensive experience with international issues and good knowledge of legal systems in foreign countries. I can quickly identify the central issues in your case and advice appropriate action.
